Wilson Bohannan - Research Padlocks

1) The shackle heel post is unlike any that WB has used on any other brass body locks. We believe the shackle was replaced.
2) The lock case may have been a #526 special order having regular case posts (The #526 was made with reinforced case posts).

1) They are both WB model #523, but one has the earlier 1886 plaque logo (on the front).
2) The first one’s plate seems to be soldered in place, while the second one’s is cast in.
3) There are some similarities in the numbers (D’s and W’s, 9W) 4) the plates are both octagonal.

Clevis and chain. For Railroad cars and switches. "WILSON BOHANNAN BROOKLYN,N.Y. 115" is stamped on the obverse of the shackle. Catalog #: 115, first appears in catalog of 1886. This lock is not listed in any WB catalogs that we have. Mfg by: Wilson Bohannan Co.  6306
