Lever Padlocks - Prototype/Experimental
"DUPLEX" - Prototype. 3" high.
Brass body. Brass shackle. Mfg by: Yale & Towne Mfg. Co. This was the first design attempt of the Duplex lock. A couple changes were made to the production lock. First, the keyways were moved farther apart because it was hard to turn the keys with them so close together. Second, the keyways were redesigned so that the keys would only go in the proper keyhole. |
