Blank. 4" high x 2 1/2" wide x 5/8" deep. Iron body. Iron shackle.
Small British-India trick lock. Keyhole is accessed by pressing rivet on front
of lock to open spring loaded drop. Well made. "The Jeff Strumberger Collection" |
8657 | |
Blank. 4 1/8" high. Iron body. Iron shackle. The drop rotates only in anti-clock wise direction and it's rotation is restricted by the two small buttons. The left button is fixed and the right button can be pushed to let the drop rotate to reveal the actual key hole. The spring below the button which keeps the button upward is so strong that it can not be pushed easily and one can not judge that any of these two buttons can be pushed. | 3239 | |
Blank. 4 1/4" high x 3 3/8" wide x 1 9/16" deep. Brass body.
Steel
shackle. Weight: 2lbs 5ozs. The drop has a special mechanism that allows it to
be pulled up and lock to the side. Originally, I believe that this mechanism
also prevented the drop from sliding to the left without first pushing it
upward. It is worn down just enough now that it will rotate to the left, but
not as much as when you first push the drop upward. Mfg by: Possibly W. C.

Blank. 4 3/8" high x 4 11/16" wide x 1" deep. Iron body.
Iron shackle. Weight: 3.6 lbs. "7" is stamped on the obverse of the shackle. "Ar
1653" is stamped on the reverse of the shackle. Rolling shackle. To open the lock you must
position the 2 dust guards in the correct position, then rotate the key 180
degrees. If you do not have the dust guards in the correct position the lock
will not open. "The Dudley Taylor Collection" |

Blank. 4 3/8" high x 3.1" wide x 1" deep excluding dust
guard and bushing. Iron body.
Iron shackle. The bushing must be pushed up to free the dust guard which
has a nib on the back which slides into the slot on the right. The bushing must
then be pushed down to remove the obstruction from the keyway. Closing is in the
reverse order; push bushing up, close dust guard then slide bushing down to lock
dust guard. Very clever. This is a double chamber lock with 2 shackle bolts. Mfg

Blank. 4 7/8" high x 3" wide x 1" deep. Iron body.
Iron shackle. Bronze ornaments and keyway cover. Dead locking mechanism. The key
is not original. The lock actually has a simple warded mechanism. "204"
is stamped on the inside of the shackle. The keyway cover moves naturally to the
left and not to the right. To open the lock: 1) The spring loaded top square plate must be
pushed up and simultaneously push the bottom plate to the right. This moves the
inside plate so that the keyway is revealed. 2) Turn key 1 clock wise revolution and pull the shackle up. Mfg by: Perhaps European mid

Blank. 6" high x 3 1/4" wide x 1 13/16" deep. Brass and
Iron body. Iron shackle. Instructions to open: Using the key shaped like a
socket wrench removes the bottom of the lock. Using the female square key at the
bottom allows you to crank the brass section down to reveal another keyhole, as
well as a small hole on the side. The small hole requires a screw key to be
screwed tight. The revealed keyhole requires a key to be turned clockwise. And
now the trick. Moving the fish under the shackle reveals yet another keyhole
which requires the smallest key to be turned counterclockwise. Once all three
final keys have been worked, the lock will open. Mfg by: Possibly middle eastern
